Liege, Belgium’s Christmas Village

0 0

When we headed to Liege for the Star Wars ICE! exhibit, their Christmas market (Christmas Village) was still running.  It wasn’t super robust and I wouldn’t make a special trip to Liege just for the market, but they had some fun stuff if you’re in the area over the holidays…

Like any Christmas market, the streets were lined with stalls selling decorations, toys, food, etc.
Coolest thing was probably the outdoor skating rink.

There was a sledding “hill” made out of astroturf.  As with most of Europe, the safety factor was low and it’s a miracle kids weren’t dying.  Although, I did see one run off screaming after another kid plowed into his head.  But he didn’t die.
There was foooooood.

There was a nice nativity
There was a really weird-looking nativity.
Some of the stands were selling unique-ish items.

And, just an aside, the train station walkway is pretty cool!
