Michelstadt’s Fachwerk

One of my favorite local towns to visit just to enjoy the feel of traditional German architecture, quaint cobblestone roads, and pure charm, is Michelstadt. (Incidentally, they host a lovely Christmas market!)

Here are just a few pics from a recent visit to the town for its Easter Market (also charming!) There’s just never a bad time to visit Michelstadt.

  1. Hi Kari,
I’ve been following your blog for a while now. I grew up in Dieburg and although I’ve been back in the States since I turned 16 (20 years ago) I still miss it. I love looking at your pictures. So many places I remember. Michelstadt is one of them. Also one of my favorite places. Your blog makes me soo happy!

    Thank you!

    Heidi

    1. I’m glad! I’ll do a Dieburg post soon just for you, then. I’m also going to the Odenwald and Bergstrasse for Xmas markets over the next few weeks (possibly Michelstadt again). I’m planning on doing another Fachwerk post one of these days. I think when we move back to the States, I’ll miss the Fachwerk most. Thanks for reading! PS- I post a lot of pics like this to Instagram if you’re on there.
