Resume Review

Resume Review

I spent 4 years reviewing resumes for both my own former small business and for a government customer, as well as one year reviewing scholarship applications. I know what makes me throw away a resume and what I’ll take the time to read.  I have been consulting on resumes for over a decade.

I will review your completed resume. I proofread for errors, reword where necessary, suggest changes, and provide feedback. I do not do resume design. You must provide a full draft of your resume.

How this works:

I will review the resume and provide edits and feedback.  This is considered my first edit, and the fees are noted. Any questions I have for you and email back-and-forth during this stage is included in the first edit fee.

If you choose, you may send me your resume a second time and I will review the edits you have made.  This is considered reviewing your edits, and the fees are noted.  The cost for subsequent edits is also noted.

Pricing:

Since I accept only full resume drafts, I do not charge the large fees that full resume writers charge. My fees are as follows:

Entry-level: $25 for first edit, an additional $5 if you choose to have me review your edits, and then $5 for each subsequent edit or review

Mid-level: $100 for first edit, an additional $15 if you choose to have me review your edits, and then $15 for each additional edit or review

Upper Management/Executive 3 pages or fewer: $150 for first edit, $25 for each additional edit or review

Academic/Professional CV, 3 pages or fewer: $150 for first edit, $25 for each additional edit or review

Upper Management/Executive resume over 3 pages: $200 for first edit, $25 for each additional edit or review

Academic/Professional CV, over 3 pages: $200 for first edit, $25 for each additional edit or review

Special note for IT careers: I will proofread and provide feedback, but I am not familiar enough with the IT world to do justice to the technical aspects of your resume.  I therefore charge only $30 for an IT resume proof, and $10 for subsequent reviews or edits, regardless of whether it is mid-level or upper management.

Recently, an entry-level client received callbacks within a week of posting her new resume, after over a month of no calls. More feedback:

“Thank you again for all of your important and very well appreciated feedback throughout [the] process.” – member of law enforcement, Maryland.

“You saved [me] today big time and I’ll be eternally grateful” (edits for a professor whose CV was requested by a review panel).  -member of academia, Virginia.

“I can’t begin to thank you for all your comments, I am a blunt person myself so I appreciated that. I LOVE the one page format. I have been wanting to make it more concise for years, but wasn’t sure what the best way to do that would be.” -mid-level career, North Carolina.
