After really enjoying Seligenstadt’s Christmas Markets last year, I returned yesterday. I was not disappointed! The town is charming and beautiful to begin with, so it’s hard not to enjoy a stroll down its cobblestoned alleys on any day. But add Christmas cheer, and it’s the perfect way to get into the spirit of the holidays.
In addition to the street market, concentrated on the Marktplatz but stretching into side streets, there is also a market inside the Kloster, which runs on certain Advent weekends.
Yesterday there was also a hobbyist market in a local hall.
There’s no shortage of handcrafted gifts and decorations, food and hot drinks, and festive music to get you in the Christmas shopping mood!
Tip: just in front of the Kloster is a little confectioner, Der Süße Löwer. We popped in for coffee, but they had some seriously delish desserts.
Plus, Seligenstadt is just a joy to walk around!
